Introduction

“The SHOW “ is the largest urban-dance competition taking place Saturday, June 13th , 2009, at the Palladium Ballroom in Dallas, TX. With focus on the art of street dancing and today’s modern choreography, “The SHOW” will be the largest annual event embracing Urban Dance and Youth Lifestyle. Hundreds of participants, the state’s top dance troupes, and thousands of spectators will partake in a performance festival setting, awarding today’s top dancers with the most prestigious acknowledgements. “The SHOW” promises to deliver and unparalleled experience to both participants and spectators in an effort to build a reputation as the state’s authority in Urban Dance and Lifestyle.


INDIVIDUAL REGISTRATION & INJURY WAIVER FORM
                                                                                   
I hereby acknowledge that by attending and participating in this dance competition there is a possibility of a physical illness or serious injury to myself. I do hearby  for myself and all others who might have a similar claim waive, release and forever discharge any and all rights and claimes for injury, which may arise now or in the future against “THE SHOW”, its directors, captains, dancers, and their representatives, for any and all damages which i may sustain while participatin in the “THE SHOW” Urban Dance Competition.                    
Media ReleaseBy participating in “THE SHOW”, you authrize photgraphy and videography for all publication and sale purposes.

RULES, GUIDELINES, & JUDGING FORMAT
ROUTINE SPECS:
  1. PERFORMANCE MUST NOT EXCEED SIX (6) MINUTES IN LENGTH; ADHERENCE TO THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A DISQUALIFICATION.
  2. NO TECH REHEARSAL
  3. 40 X 40 STAGE AREA

MUSIC & CD REQUIREMENTS

  1. EACH TEAM MUST PROVIDE 2 COPIES OF MUSIC ON CD BEFORE COMPETITION BEGINS.
  2. MAKE PERFORMANCE MUSIC ONLY 1 CONTINOUS TRACK
  3. PLEASE LABEL YOUR CD WITH YOUR TEAM NAME AND STORED IN A PLASTIC JEWEL CASE.
  4. MUSIC MUST NOT CONTAIN INAPPROPIATE OR OFFENSIVE LANGUAGE; ADHERENCE TO THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN A SCORE DEDUCTION DUE FOR THE COMPETITION BEING A FAMILY EVENT

JUDGES

  1. PANEL WILL CONSIST OF MULTIPLE JUDGES AND ON TABULATOR.
  2. ALL JUDGES WILL MEET THE ELIGIBILTY, TRAINING, JUDGE SKILLS LEVEL AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BY THE HIP HOP DANCE ALLIANCE
  3. ALL JUDGES WILL BE SCORING EACH GROUP USING THE HIP HOP DANCE ALLIANCE SCORE SHEET.
  4. EACH TEAM WILL RECEIVE A COPY OF THERE SOCRING SHEETS SCORED BY EACH JUDGE.
  5. OLYMPIC STYLE FORMAT (LOWEST AND HIGHEST SCORE FROM JUDGES WILL NOT BE TALLIED FOR FINAL AVERAGE SCORE.)

SCORING SYSTEM

  1. ROUTINE: 40 POINTS OUT OF A 100 TOTAL POINTS. 40% OF TOTAL SCORE.
  2. EXECUTION: 35 POINTS OUT OF A 100 TOTAL POINTS. 35% OF TOTAL SCORE.
  3. PRESENTATION: 20 POINTS OUT OF A 100 TOTAL POINTS. 20% OF TOTAL SCORE.
  4. CROWD APPEAL: 05 POINTS OUT OF A 100 TOTAL POINTS. 05% OF TOTAL SCORE.

PRIZES

  1. WE WILL BE AWARDING 1ST, 2ND, AND 3RD PLACE TROPHIES.
  2. $1500 FIRST PLACE PRICE
  3. INDIVIDUAL TROPHIES FOR EACH FIRST PLACE TEAM DANCERS
